Warriors Wrap Up: First Official Day of the Olympics

The 2016 Olympic Games from Rio de Janeiro officially start today, and Team USA basketball is going to enjoy the experience in enhanced style.

Since Team USA basketball began letting professionals attend the Olympic Games in 1992, they haven’t stayed with the other athletes in the Olympic village.

Due to security concerns, they’re kept separate from the other athletes, and experience the most stringent security possible.

They usually stay in a luxury hotel that’s extremely well protected, but for the Rio Games, they will be staying on a docked cruise ship.

The ship is called the “Silver Cloud,” and is essentially a floating hotel where Team USA can prepare for their games in ultimate luxury.

The Warriors have 3 players on Team USA, the most of any team in the NBA. One of these players is Draymond Green, who has had a very turbulent past few months both on and off the court.

Despite the criticism he has received, one of the people who knows Green best vouches for his high character.

Legendary coach Tom Izzo coached Green at Michigan State, and emphasized that Green was one of the best people he has ever had the pleasure of coaching.

He stressed Green’s incredible loyalty. Very few people know Green as well as Izzo does, so that praise speaks volumes.
