Warriors Wrap Up: Andrew Bogut Back from Leg Injury

Even though he’s no longer on the Warriors, Andrew Bogut is still deeply connected to the Warriors and their success.

Not only was he an interior defensive anchor and great facilitator on the Warriors teams that won the championship and had a 73 win season, but the reason they were able to upgrade their roster this season was largely because of him.

They would not have had the cap room to offer Kevin Durant the type of contract he wanted had Bogut still been on the roster.

They traded Bogut to the Dallas Mavericks, and were able to sign one of the top superstars in the NBA.

Bogut injured his leg in the NBA Finals, and his absence was a crucial turning point in the series, leaving the Warriors with no viable rim protecting options.

His appearance against Team China for the Australian national team was his first in a basketball game since that injury, and he looks to make Team Australia competitive for a medal in the Rio Olympics.

Kevin Durant also had some strong words of support for his friend and former teammate James Harden.

Durant said that it was travesty that Harden had the stats he had and still didn’t make one of the All-NBA teams.

Although Harden isn’t a good defender, he’s undoubtedly one of the most talented offensive players in the league.
