The troubling news today was that Draymond Green was arrested for assaulting a man at a restaurant in East Lansing, Michigan.
According to the police, Green slapped the man during a confrontation that was instigated by the victim taunting Green.
No injuries were reported to either of the parties involved, which is an important positive to take away from his unfortunate situation.
This surely wasn’t how Green wanted to spend his offseason. His arraignment will be on July 20th, and he faces a maximum of 93 days in jail and a $500 fine if convicted.
This development comes within an offseason defined by gigantic expectations for what this Warriors team can accomplish on the court.
The Kevin Durant signing has caused a flood of wagers to come in on the Warriors to win the championship next season.
The Warriors were getting a lot of support from the sports gambling world even before Durant joined. With another superstar added to the mix, the expectations for what this squad is capable of have gone through the roof.
The Warriors are also still looking to potentially add another center, and Kendrick Perkins is a name that is circulating as a possibility to join the team.
Perkins was Durant’s teammate in Oklahoma City from 2011-2015, and it seems like he’d be more than willing to follow the superstar to his new team.
