The Warriors don’t have a lot of needs. They want to avoid paying the luxury tax next season, so they will be looking to trade David Lee this Summer. Lee is owed $15.5 million next year and with no pressing needs on the roster, some expected the Warriors to package their first round pick to entice some teams to take on Lee’s contract.

That might not be what the Warriors are thinking with one day left until the NBA Draft. According to Scott Howard-Cooper of NBA.com, the Warriors might be looking to move in the draft:
Interesting development heading toward Thursday night: I’m hearing the Warriors are exploring the possibility of trading UP. Target unknown.

The Warriors don’t need another guaranteed contract on the roster, which is why this report is surprising. Unless they are willing to include other players in a deal, the Warriors will have a hard time moving up with only Lee as a trade-able asset.
This draft has some nice prospects, but if there’s any truth to this report, the Warriors must have a target in mind. Could it be another big man? Maybe another wing?
It’s doubtful that the Warriors actually move up tomorrow. It’s more likely they use that 30th pick to help move Lee.
