The Golden State Warriors are expected to make some noise this season and that is largely due to the roster they’ve put together. The front office has done a tremendous job of drafting and trading for the right players. Now, the Warriors have depth across the board, which is beneficial when the team is missing some players due to injury.
While having a multitude of talented players is advantageous on the court, it makes things difficult for the GM, when trying to decide who they will pay to keep on the roster. According to Diamond Leung of the Bay Area News Group, the Warriors have declined to pick up Nemanja Nedovic’s third year option, making him a free agent at the end of the season:
Warriors did not exercise the third-year contract option on Nemanja Nedovic.

Nedovic has been slowed down by injuries since being drafted with the 30th pick of the first round in 2013. He had a poor showing at the Las Vegas Summer League and had to miss the FIBA World Cup of Basketball because of a foot injury. The Warriors will save $1.15 million by declining to pick up his option.
It seemed the Warriors were going to have a simple decision to make on Nedovic, but he looked solid in the pre-season and finally showed what he is capable of doing on the floor. His athleticism has never been questioned and his ability to get to the hole will make him appealing to other NBA teams. Nedovic now has the opportunity to play this season and audition for another job in the league and get a second chance to continue to live his NBA dream.
