The 13th player drafted in the 2008 NBA draft has returned to the Bay Area, Brandon Rush returns to the Warriors and is hoping to contribute immediately. In Rush’s final season with the Warriors, he tore his ACL in the third game of the 2012-13 season. Against the Memphis Grizzlies, Rush was going up for a dunk and was fouled by Zach Randolph. Unfortunately, he landed strangely and the MRI reveled he had tore his ACL for a second time.

His first stint with the Warriors was cut short when he was traded to the Utah Jazz with Richard Jefferson and Andris Biedrins. In that three team trade, the Warrirors received their current starting small forward Andre Iguodala and Kevin Murphy. With the Utah Jazz, Rush appeared in 38 games, but averaged only 11 minutes per game, which led to statistical career lows.
This season’s Warriors bench is much improved with the new additions of Shaun Livingston and Brandon Rush. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, Rush and the Warriors agreed to a two year deal:

Rush is currently healthy once again and looks to make an immediate impact this upcoming season. Rush is exactly what the doctor ordered as he can fill what the Warriors lacked this last season. When he is given solid minutes; he has shown that he is a consistent deep ball threat, decent rebounder, and a hardworking defender.
With the news spreading, many fans are excited for Rush’s return. This excitement goes both ways as Rush had conducted workouts in Las Vegas and ultimately decided to join the Warriors in hopes that his second stint would be more successful. This signing is a relatively small risk for the Warriors, as he signed a fairly affordable contract at $2.5 million.
