Through the doubts and naysayers, the Golden State Warriors are still on top of the league. With an impressive 39-4 record, the Dubs are on their way to challenge history. The All-Star break serves as a checkpoint for the Dubs to rest and to shine.
With the NBA’s favorites, the Warriors get their shot to mingle and have some fun in the exhibition game for the fans. Traditionally, the fans voted for one Center, two Forwards, and two Guards. With the way the NBA has changed, they have transformed the format in two three Forwards and Two Guards. The Golden State Warriors will have only one members starting on Sunday.
Curry was a lock to start the game. He finished second overall in All-Star voting, only behind to Kobe Bryant who will participate in his final All-Star game. The questionable race was between Draymond Green and Kawhi Leonard. In the last voting return results, Draymond and Leonard were neck and neck. Leonard would pull away and earn the third Forward spot. Of course, the rest of the roster still needs to be filled in; the NBA coaches will vote in the rest of the players. Green, Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes will get a chance to get in.
Last season, Klay Thompson joined Steph for the festivities. Stephen was voted in as a starter by the fans and Klay got the nod from the coaches. On Saturday night, Curry would win the 3 Point Contest over Thompson as the two met in the final round.
Steph will join Kobe, Leonard Russell Westbrook, and Kevin Durant as the Western Conference starters. The main event will be hosted in Toronto, Canada on Sunday, February 14, 2016.
