High school is a time most of us adults can look back on and reminisce about the good times. Back when your biggest worry was applying for college and taking the SAT’s. Life was simpler back then.

For Steph Curry, he was like most high school students in the mid-2000’s, trying to get to college and in the process was helping his high school basketball team get some wins. After playing one year in Junior Varsity, Curry played the rest of his high school career on the varsity squad.

Curry was not your typical 4 or 5 star recruit, he didn’t even get a scholarship offer from his dad’s alma mater, Virginia Tech. He was always described as too small or too weak, but he sure did prove everybody wrong.

Today, Curry is the reigning back-to-back MVP and his team has the best record in the NBA. While on the road visiting the Hornets, Charlotte Christian School decided to honor the Splash Brother and retire the jersey he wore during his high school career.

The number 20 will never be worn again at Charlotte Christian School, an honor that every basketball player dreams of. Curry went from not knowing whether he was going to make the varsity team to having the best selling jersey in the NBA.

That’s what makes him so popular, so many of us can relate to that. Congrats Steph, you’ve earned it.
