Steph Curry had a triple-double against the Suns on Sunday night, but he wasn’t too happy about it. Usually you celebrate triple-doubles, but not when it consists of 10 turnovers. In their first loss of the season, Curry scored 28 points and dished out 10 dimes, but his 10 turnovers were costly and they let one slip away.
Turnovers can cost you the game and the Warriors have been racking them up all season. The Warriors average 22.3 turnovers per game, which is the most in the NBA. Nobody gives the ball away more than the Dubs, but somehow they have only lost one game this season. The problem must be corrected immediately.
Curry was quick to recognize that he was ashamed of his performance and cannot allow to happen again. Following Sunday’s loss to the Suns, Curry went to his Instagram and posted this photo:
At first glance, one might think that Curry was just following the trend of sharing food or desert with everybody on social media, but then you read his caption. Curry wrote, “SMH. It’ll Change”. The picture is obviously an apple turnover, so he’s acknowledges that his performance was embarrassing. The Warriors will have a very tough time winning if Steph Curry gets even close to 10 turnovers again.
They are without a few key players, so this team will grow and continue to strengthen their chemistry. However, they must address this before it costs them any more games, in a competitive Western Conference they can’t afford to add to the loss column because of careless turnovers.
