After beating the Oklahoma City Thunder 91-86 on the road, the Warriors find themselves with a record of 10-2. That’s the best start in franchise history and the NBA continues to take notice. The Warriors will not be sneaking under anybody’s radar, they are quickly asserting themselves as a contender in the Western Conference.

Last week, Sports Illustrated was the only media outlet to have the Warriors number one in the power rankings. After only two games this week, the Warriors added to victories to their record and did enough to convince ESPN and NBA.com that the Warriors are currently the best team in the NBA.
Marc Stein of ESPN.com, had this to say about the Dubs:
The Golden State Warriors, unlucky to be bumped out of the top spot last week, have narrowly reclaimed their No. 1 status ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies and Toronto Raptors on this Rankings Monday.
Riding a five-game winning streak and boasting the league’s No. 1 defense, Golden State has lost only in Phoenix (without the injured Klay Thompson) and at home to San Antonio. Steve Kerr’s first month as an NBA coach concludes with road dates at Miami, Orlando, Charlotte and Detroit.
If Klay Thompson doesn’t hurt his hand against the Rockets, the Warriors could be 11-1. Nevertheless, the Warriors have been playing great basketball and they have been doing it in every facet of the game. Like the Spurs, the Warriors are playing fantastic basketball and it’s beautiful to watch.
If the Warriors can maintain this pace, they will be competing for a top seed in the competitive Western Conference. The Warriors cannot get complacent and must keep their foot on the gas, but as a fan it’s hard not to get excited about this squad.
