Steve Kerr chose to coach the Summer League team upon entering his first year as a head coach. After the long 82 game regular season and the playoffs, he’s elected to take the summer off which allows Luke Walton to oversee the action in Las Vegas.
The Las Vegas Summer League will tip off on Friday, July 10. As we’ve mentioned, Kevon Looney will be joined by a pair of NBA Champions in Ognjen Kuzmic and James Michael McAdoo. From the Santa Cruz Warriors, Aaron Craft and Dominique Sutton will look to impress to try and crack a roster spot.
The Warriors will begin Summer against a familiar foe, the Cleveland Cavaliers. Although it won’t have an NBA Finals atmosphere, it’ll be enjoyable to watch NBA basketball once again. On top of the coverage on NBA TV, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area will air a pair of games.
After the three preliminary rounds, the Warriors will enter the tournament style schedule. There, they will contend for the Summer League title. The Warriors won the inaugural championship behind Draymond Green, Kent Bazemore, and Ian Clark
Last Summer, Justin Holiday, Aaron Craft, James Michael McAdoo and Ognjen Kuzmic were on the roster. This year’s roster shows promise from a lot of young players. For more information refer to the press release below:
