The All-Star break is right around the corner, which means the trade deadline isn’t far behind. So far this season, the Warriors have played well enough to claim the best record in the league, but there is always room for improvement.
While it’s unlikely that the Warriors make any moves by the deadline, they will be looking to upgrade their roster at some point. It looks like the process has begun.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Warriors have waived Anderson Varejao and signed Briante Weber to replace him on the roster:

Many fans have been waiting a long time for this. Varejao didn’t provide much in his short time with the Warriors and many felt it was time for a change. The front office agreed and waived the veteran big man, giving them an open roster spot.
They filled the spot with Weber, who was playing with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the Miami Heat’s D-League affiliate. He is known for his ability to share the rock and his defensive ability. He could have signed with the Heat, but he opted for a change of scenery.
Varejao only appeared in 14 games this season, only averaging 1.3 points and 1.9 boards per game.
