The NBA once again dominated the sports headlines when news broke about the blockbuster trade between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics. Kyrie Irving is now a member of the Celtics and in return the Cavs received Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and the Brooklyn Nets’ first round pick.

The news got everybody excited about the NBA again, even though it is still over two months away from the start of the regular season. While we know the regular season schedule already, the pre-season schedule was a mystery until the team finally announced it yesterday.

The Warriors will open the pre-season at Oracle Arena against the Denver Nuggets on September 30th. After the pre-season opener the Warriors will travel to China to play two games against the Minnesota Timberwolves. It’s only fair the rest of the world gets to see the Warriors up close and this time it will be China’s passionate fan base that will get the chance.

The pre-season will end with one final game at Oracle against the Sacramento Kings and then it’s off to the regular season. The Warriors will be receiving their rings on opening night, so surely they will be very anxious to start the regular season.

OAKLAND, CA – The NBA Champion Golden State Warriors will play two home games at Oracle Arena and two games in China as part of a four-game preseason schedule, the team announced today.

The Warriors open the 2017 preseason schedule at home on Saturday, September 30, against the Denver Nuggets before making their third trip to China in the last 10 years for a pair of games against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Shenzhen on Thursday, October 5 (10:30 p.m. PDT on October 4) and in Shanghai on Saturday, October 8 (3:30 a.m. PDT). Golden State will return home to close the preseason on Friday, October 13, against the Sacramento Kings.

The Warriors’ previous trips to China include a pair of games against the Milwaukee Bucks in Guangzhou and Beijing in 2008 and two games against the Los Angeles Lakers in Beijing and Shanghai in 2013. The Warriors were one of the first teams to launch a Chinese website and a Weibo account in October of 2013 and currently have the most followers in the NBA on Weibo with over 3.4 million followers.
