Stephen Curry is the reigning MVP and its a safe bet to see him repeat as the league’s best player. Crazy enough, Steph became more efficient and the media noticed. In voting for the NBA’s Most Improved Player, he finished in fourth.
Before the half in Game 4, the Warriors got a scare as Curry went down awkwardly. His Grade 1 MCL sprain will be reevaluated in two weeks but for now, the Warriors will have to win without the star. Since the knee is still intact, surgery is not necessary.
Obviously losing the best player in the league hurts, but Draymond Green remains confident in the Warriors. According to Michael Lee of The Vertical on Yahoo Sports, Green believes the Warriors will be fine until Steph’s return:
“We’re still very confident, but if I told you our confidence level was the same without Steph, that’s a lie,” Green said. “Our confidence with Steph is through the roof. It’s beyond high. Without Steph, it’s still at the roof. So we’re not losing much confidence. We still believe in ourselves, we still think it’s very possible for us to make a run and hold it down until he gets back.”
Draymond has always been 100% truthful and is never afraid to express his opinions. Avoiding the cliches and downplaying of the situation, Green honestly answered and assessed the situation. With one of the best benches in the league, the Warriors will need to prove they can win with and without Curry.
