The Warriors have won 50 games with 20 games remaining in the regular season, which is an impressive feat given they only won 51 games last year. There’s reason to celebrate if you’re a fan of the Warriors, but most of the attention has been on the rivalry with the Clippers.
After Dahntay Jones was fined $10,000 for bumping Draymond Green, Doc Rivers and Jones were quick to take shots at Green. Today, Green responded back to Rivers. According to Dieter Kurtenbach of KNBR, Green quickly dismissed the comments from Rivers:
“Cool story, Glenn,” Green said.”I’m done with that situation, man… I don’t have no reason to worry about what Glenn has to say.”
Rivers wouldn’t address Green by his name when he questioned his toughness and now Green only referred to Rivers by his first name, Glenn. Draymond is looking to move on from the situation, but it might not be that simple, especially with one more meeting between the two at the end of March.
The Warriors have bigger problems to worry about, so Green’s response makes sense. The Warriors have nothing to gain from this whole ordeal, so it’s best for them to move on. Green will have an opportunity to send a message on the court, while Jones will just have to wait and see from the bench.
“Only won 51 games last year”? That was the most games they’d won in decades, I believe.
