Free agency opened last week as teams were able to speak to players. Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors looked like a lock to reunite. It was a bit of struggle, but a small one. The forward out of Michigan State signed a five year deal worth about $82 million.

Today, the Warriors held a press conference to announce the partnership. Before heading out to take questions from the media, Green put the pen to the paper with his mom looking over his shoulder:

Our very own Yama Hazheer was there to see everything go down. Now that Green has helped the Warriors reach the pinnacle, the hunger to win more is there. One championship is nice to add to the resume, but more is always better in this case.

With the goals to repeat and win multiple championships, staying the same isn’t enough. Green has always shown that blue collar work ehtic and is focused on adding post moves and working on his jumpshot. Once called too small to play in the league, everything Green had, he earned.

Luckily for Dray, he has two of the best shooters in the league at his disposal. With only three seasons in the NBA, expect to see Green get better as he ages. One thing is for certain, his energy and motor to grab play hard on the court.

At the end of the press conference, GM Bob Myers and Green posed for photos. It’s interesting to see Myers stand taller than Green. As a player at UCLA, Myers was listed 6-foot-7, which is the same height as Green. If Green is actually shorter than his listed 6-foot-7 frame, it makes it that much more impressive.
