Three seasons into the NBA and Draymond Green has accomplished something Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Dominique Wilkins, Elgin Baylor, and a ton more have not, win the NBA Championship. Obviously the goal for the next season is to repeat and continue to build the Warriors dynasty but Draymond Green has admitted to having one “selfish” individual goal.
According to Carl Steward of the San Jose Mercury News, Green has his eyes set on Olympic Gold, the only way in is to be apart of the US National Team:
“I do have one selfish goal — I want to make the Olympic team next summer,” Green said after his formal news conference. “That’s a real goal of mine, to make the Olympic team.”
In 2014, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson teamed up with eventual rival, Kyrie Irving to win the World Cup. That team featured a 12 man roster. Practicing, scrimmaging, and playing against the talented players in the NBA will improve your game. Steph and Klay showed huge improvements in the regular season in which they gained from the Summer work.
Draymond has already made great strides in improving his game and definitely has the hunger for more. Looking to be the third Warriors member on the US National team, it’s something that will be hard, but not impossible. The Warriors core is young and talented and has tasted the glory.
