Free agency began at 9:01PM PST and Draymond Green met with the Warriors but nothing was heard. Today, the news came that the talks were on a break and Green would field offers from other franchises. That’s apparently over already.

Of course the Warriors had Green as a restricted free agent which would’ve let them match any offers making it unlikely for Green to leave. The Warriors will retain their spark plug in Draymond. At about 8:00PM Green tweeted:
I’m going going back back to the bay!!! http://t.co/irQV16elVx

For $85 Million, the Warriors will keep Green in the blue and gold. Marc. J Spears of Yahoo Sports broke the news first:
The Warriors have agreed to terms on a five-year, $85 million deal with their free agent forward Draymond Green, a source told Yahoo.

Green will not have any opt-out clauses in the contract. Tim Kawakami made a great point about the details of Green’s contract. Green didn’t take the max but it was much more than he would receive anywhere else:
Max GSWs could’ve given him was $93.1M. Max another team could’ve: $69.2M. Now $85M isn’t exactly the middle, but you get the point. — Tim Kawakami (@timkawakami) July 2, 2015
Without taking the absolute max, Green will leave a little bit more space to pay Stephen Curry when he becomes a free agent after the 2016-17 NBA season. At that junction, Curry will be 29 years old and looking for another long term contract. Right now, Green is 25 and will remain a Warrior for the next five seasons. The core of the Warriors will remain together for at least two more seasons. The Warriors have Andrew Bogut, Andre Iguodala, and Stephen Curry under contract until then. Like the Dubs fans, we’re more than happy to see the Warriors pay Dray.
Draymond goes from $900k salary to $17m salary. Stunt
