The Warriors are preparing to host the Cleveland Cavaliers, the newest “big three” to be assembled and a pre-season favorite to win the East. LeBron James won’t play, but Kevin Love comes to Oracle after nearly being traded to Golden State in the off-season.
While Curry won’t get the chance to battle LeBron on the court on Friday night, he does have a shot at catching LeBron in All-Star fan votes. According to Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today, LeBron’s lead has decreased after the third round of fan votes came in:

LeBron’s lead is down to only 13,285 votes, so Curry is within striking distance. Klay Thompson is in sixth place for the two guard spots and they’ve already been locked up by Steph Curry and Kobe Bryant. The West is loaded with talented guards, so Thompson isn’t guaranteed to be selected as a reserve, although he has impressive statistics and his team has the best record in the NBA.
Curry’s rise to stardom is reaching new heights and if the Warriors keep winning, he’s a serious contender for the NBA MVP. Curry would prefer to win a title before an individual award, but he’s earned the praise this season and he’s a thrill to watch.
