Andrew Bogut has been hit by the injury bug early and often. The first injury was from an inadvertent contact from K.J. McDaniels’ follow through on a dunk attempt in preseason. As an NBA center who defends the basket, contact is a necessity.
On opening night, Bogut was forced to wear a mask to protect the nose as it heals. Even with the mask on, the head-to-head collision with Dante Cunningham caused Bogut’s eye to open. The long-term effects of this collision includes Bogut’s concussion. He won’t return until he is cleared from the NBA’s concussion protocol guidelines. Andrew Bogut was unhappy with the situation:
Basketball or soccer yesterday? Was he going for a header or……..?

Bogut’s rim protecting and passing ability will be missed. As an intricate part of the offense, his impact isn’t always exemplified. Against the Houston Rockets, the Warriors may turn to Festus Ezeli or go small with Marreese Speights and Draymond Green at the 5.
