The Golden State Warriors took on the Houston Rockets in their third preseason game and walk away with a victory. The great news was that the Warriors offense was clicking as they put up 82 points in the first half. Unfortunately, the Warriors walked finished a bit banged up.
Andrew Bogut was the victim of a K.J. McDaniels’ forearm. Bogut was diagnosed with a broken nose, the fourth in his career. The plans for Bogut’s nose is to undergo surgery this weekend.
According to Ethan Sherwood Strauss of ESPN, Bogut made statements that sounds like he will be ready for the regular season:
“It’s the fourth time I’ve broken it,” Bogut said. “I have surgery tomorrow, afternoon I hope, or Saturday morning. But I’ll miss Saturday, probably miss Tuesday, and I’ll try to play Thursday with a mask in the final preseason game. Then I’ll be ready to go.
“It is what it is. Just more pissed off that I got called for the foul because I didn’t touch him at all. My nose hit his fist, called for a foul. This is actually the third time I’ve been called for a foul when I got my nose broken.”
Last season, the 30 year old started 67 games and played over 23 minutes per contest. His numbers of 6.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks don’t really tell the story and impact he makes. He’s a good passing big-man and opens up the offense for the Splash Brothers and the entire Dubs team.
