As fantastic as Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green truly are, there might not be a player that is needed more for the playoffs, beyond those three men, as Andre Iguodala happens to be. But the Golden State Warriors sixth man is still not close to returning yet.
Iguodala suffered an ankle injury just over two weeks ago in a game against the Portland Trail Blazers, and he’s still not played a single game since then. It’s something that could definitely linger, and it’s an injury that has head coach Steve Kerr talking about just how far away Iguodala is from a return.
From CSN Bay Area dot com:
Andre Iguodala, on the other hand, does not have quite as positive of a prognosis. Golden State’s star sixth man has been out since spraining his left ankle March 11 against the Portland Trail Blazers, and is still “a little bit a ways away from playing,” according to [head coach Steve] Kerr.
The lockdown defender and athletic sixth man is still “a little bit a ways away from playing.” That could mean anywhere from a week to several weeks, but Iguodala could almost certainly be back in time for the playoffs. If not, then he might miss the first round.
There’s no telling when Iguodala will actually return, but the Warriors will need his services in the latter rounds of the playoffs if they are to win their second straight world championship. Without him, it could be tough. With him, it’s that much easier.
