The Golden State Warriors have today and tomorrow off as they prepare for their last game of the season. If they can defeat the Memphis Grizzlies for the second time this week, they will collect another record. For those who live under a rock, the Warriors will be going for 73 wins, a record that would be solely held by themselves.
The Chicago Bulls have held the 72-wins record for nearly 20 years and seem supportive for Golden State. From their official Twitter accounts, Phil Jackson, Scottie Pippen, and Ron Harper tweeted about the Warriors’ achievement:
Way-to-Go!! Congrats to GSt Warriors,SKerr&LWalton et al. The journey to 72 wins is a remarkable achievement-very impressive-now get #73.

Giving credit where credit is due. Congrats to @SteveKerr and his @warriors on win no. 72. They earned it tonight.

.@StephenCurry30 showed why he’s the MVP. As cold blooded shooter as I’ve ever seen and a basketball IQ that is off the charts.

Congrats to @GSWarriors_ & Steve Kerr Steph curry and crew go for 72 win and get 73 on weds.
— Ron Harper (@HARPER04_5) April 11, 2016
This is a bit of a surprise since Scottie Pippen and Ron Harper are on record to think very highly of their team. Harper did say the 1995-96 Bulls would sweep the Warriors if they’ve ever met. If anything, it’s important to notice that all tweets mention head coach, Steve Kerr who also played with that record-setting Bulls team.
Say what you like, you can’t argue with success. The Warriors currently don’t know who their first round opponent will be but will have a few days to rest before the playoffs kick off.
As a bonus, Bill Walton is supporting and all-in for record-breaking Warriors:

What does 73 wins really mean? Is it a fallacy?
