The Golden State Warriors will try and close out the series once again. On the other side, the Houston Rockets will have to deal with a Stephen Curry that’s 100% ready to play after taking a scary fall. The Warriors crowd will be behind the squad in their efforts to advance into the NBA Finals. Expect the crowd to be loud and the Warriors bench to pitch in. With the Cleveland Cavaliers already waiting, the Dubs will want to close out and receive adequate rest too.

1st Quarter
The Rockets got off to a fast start again in Game 5. No, this time it didn’t involve a 45 point explosion, but Dwight Howard was carrying the load. He scored six points early on and was drawing a lot of fouls. The Warriors came out with some energy, but they were cold from the field. Unfortunately, turnovers were also a problem. With about six minutes left in the quarter, the Rockets had a 9-8 lead. James Harden got going a little bit and scored five straight points. The Warriors just could not get it going offensively and Houston was in charge. The Warriors were down six, until Curry hit a triple to get it down to three. Two Harden free throws closed out the quarter and the Warriors trailed 22-17.

2nd Quarter
The Rockets couldn’t buy a basket to start the second quarter. The Warriors on the other hand were able to convert on the offensive end. Klay Thompson then came alive. He scored 11 points in a flash. The Warriors went from trailing, to leading the game by six. Oracle Arena was rocking. The Rockets came right back with two triples of his own to cut the lead to only two. The scoring picked up and both teams were putting the ball in the hole. Steph Curry hit a nice triple to put the Warriors up by eight and once again the Oracle. The Rockets came back to score four points in a row to keep this game interesting. Festus Ezeli was active in the paint and he got a pair of easy buckets. The Warriors went with the hack-a-Dwight and he only hit two. Curry got fouled on a three attempt, but surprisingly he missed one. The Warriors went into the break with a 52-46.

3rd Quarter
Klay Thompson started the second half with four straight points. Jason Terry hit a triple to quiet the crowd. It all kind of all went down hill from the Warriors from that point. Not only did Houston go on a 9-0 run, but Thompson picked up his fourth and fifth fouls of the game. Kerr had no other option but to take him out. With no Thompson on the floor, the Warriors went cold. They could not score for almost four minutes and the Rockets cut the lead to one. Draymond Green and Leandro Barbosa provided a nice scoring punch and it allowed the Warriors to go back up by six. Terry did the same for his team, he scored seven straight points for Houston to cut the deficit to to two. Steph Curry and Iguodala hit some shots down the stretch to give them a nine point lead. Harden and Howard combined to hit three free throws to get the lead down to six going into the fourth quarter.

4th Quarter
The fourth quarter got off to a slow start by both teams. However, Playoff Barnes returned and he simply took over. In a little over a minute, he scored seven points and the crowd went wild. Barnes hit another bucket after a Houston timeout and the lead was now 15. You knew the Rockets were not going to give up. A 6-0 run got the deficit down to single digits, but Barnes came back for another four points plus a Curry bucket put them up by 14. With about 3 minutes left the Warriors went a little cold. The Rockers could not capitalize and time was running out.
