The Golden State Warriors have finally been placed in the USA Today’s Watchability Rankings. As these rankings are merely a preview of all the NBA teams, Adi Joseph of USA Today Sports ranks and predicts how a team will do while considering the pleasure of watching the particular team play. Obviously with the atmosphere, roster, and pride the Warriors were a shoo-in to place high.

Cracking the top five, the Warriors were ranked ahead of the Bulls, Blazers, Pelicans, Rockets, and Wizards in the top 10. Although the “Splash Brothers” have had a successful offseason winning gold for the USA in FIBA, they are only projected to lead the team to a 50-32 season (finished last season with 51-31 record with Coach Mark Jackson). As tough as the Western Conference is, this record will probably amount to somewhere around a 7th seed in the standings.
Joseph is honest and points out the Warriors pressure and the necessity to win now. With Klay Thompson on the cusp of a large extension, the job of the front office will become much more difficult with balancing finances and acquiring pieces of the championship puzzle. This is a huge year for Thompson as he’s going to need to prove his worth to the Warriors and the fans. The front office ultimately chose Thompson over Kevin Love by refusing to add Thompson to trade talks this summer.
