5. Eric “Sleepy” Floyd
Sleepy Floyd was originally drafted by the New Jersey Nets in the 1982 NBA draft. He was the 13th selection, but his time in New Jersey did not last long. The Nets traded Johnson to the Warriors along with Mickey Johnson for Michael Ray Richardson. Floyd spent six seasons and was selected to the All-Star team during the 1986-87 season.
Floyd will be always remembered for his performance in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Warriors were down 0-3 to the eventual NBA Champions, but Floyd was determined to prevent the sweep. The Warriors would win Game 4 behind Floyd’s historic performance. He finished the game with 51 points, scoring 29 points in the fourth quarter, which is still a record to this day. He had 39 in the second half, which is also an NBA record that has yet to be broken.
Floyd comes in at the number five spot in our list. He shot 44 percent from the field and 82 percent from the free throw line in his career. He also shot the three ball with some consistency, but not well enough to land him higher on this list. He shot 32 percent from beyond the arc, but he will be remembered by his weaving through the lane to get buckets.
