Tomorrow afternoon Team USA Basketball officials are set to reveal the list of players they’ve invited to attend training camp in New York City in preparation for the World Championships later this summer. WarriorsWorld.net has learned that among the 15 players who’ve made the cut is Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry. Curry received word last night that he had been selected to attend training camp next month in August. Training camp will run from August 10-16 with the final roster of 12 being announced by August 26.
With many of the players from the Beijing Olympics not participating in the World Championships this year its provided an opportunity to many of the young stars to showcase their talents. Curry’s invitation to camp comes as no surprise as he’s one of the best shooters on Team USA and his high basketball IQ is an essential ingredient for success in international play. It’ll be interesting to see how Curry performs next month as he has a legitimate shot at making the final roster for the World Championships in Turkey.
