Curry, who has played in 10 fewer games than Miller to this point yet is just one shy of his mark after hitting five of 11 threes in Game 2, gave an unassuming nod and admitted that he was unaware. Then, he grinned.
“You know what mark I want?” he said just before walking away. “Danny Green’s.”
Green hit a record 27 three point shots against the Miami Heat in the 2013 NBA Finals. While Curry appreciates Miller’s record, his main focus is on not only reaching the NBA Finals, but winning a championship for this franchise that has not hoisted the Larry O’Brien trophy since 1975.
If one person can break Danny Green’s record, it’s Steph Curry, but in order to do so they must eliminate the Rockets from the playoffs. If it all works out, it looks like Curry and the Warriors will face off against LeBron James and the Cavaliers. Green broke the record against a LeBron led team in the Finals, it’s going to be fun watching Curry try and do the same if both teams advance.
