David Lee, PF 42 MIN | 7-17 FG | 7-8 FT | 13 REB | 4 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK | 5 TO | 21 PTS | -1Lee pressed the issue tonight on the offensive end tonight: driving into the lane, elbow jumpers and everything else in his repertoire. But, as the theme went for the entire team, the team just never found any consistent rhythm. Credit to Lee for fighting until his taken out in the 4th, but it was too little too late.
Andre Iguodala, SF 28 MIN | 1-4 FG | 3-4 FT | 3 REB | 6 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 6 TO | 6 PTS | +5Andre was on his way towards another productive outing until the third quarter when he pulled up limping, favoring his left hamstring. The initial diagnoses is some type of left hamstring injury with an MRI scheduled for Saturday.
Harrison Barnes, SF 44 MIN | 9-13 FG | 0-0 FT | 4 REB | 3 AST | 1 STL | 1 BLK | 1 TO | 20 PTS | -10If there was one bright spot in this mess of a game it was the play of Barnes. 9/13 from the field for 20 points in 44 minutes — including 2/3 from deep — is an impressive line regardless of opponent or situation. Barnes is much more efficient when attacking and working from the inside-out then settling for pull-ups or contested jumpers. He did so tonight with success and in the midst of all these injuries has proven to be an invaluable piece to the Warriors puzzle.
Andrew Bogut, C 32 MIN | 5-9 FG | 2-7 FT | 13 REB | 5 AST | 2 STL | 1 BLK | 1 TO | 12 PTS | +13Another game, another double-double for the Aussie. As the season has progressed it seems like Bogut is (slowly) becoming more comfortable on the offensive end. As Mark Jackson continues to feed him down low, Bogut will continue to get his looks in the post and the Warriors — especially with their multitude of injuries — would fair much better with some offensive production from their center. We still shouldn’t expect many points, but instead become more comfortable with him touching the ball and getting these consistent looks.
Klay Thompson, SG 41 MIN | 6-20 FG | 3-5 FT | 3 REB | 3 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK | 2 TO | 19 PTS | -6Yikes. Thompson’s homecoming couldn’t have gone much worse. His 19 points were moot as Thompson shot a putrid 6/20 and looked entirely too rattled all game. Once again, without his fellow Splash Brother, Thompson failed to find any sort of consistency throughout the night. Except this time there was no Kawhi Leonard or Tayshaun Prince shadowing him tonight. The Lakers aren’t a good defensive team — 18th in defensive efficiency (102.1) — and Thompson still couldn’t take advantage. The sooner Curry comes back the better. |
Quote of the game:
“Normally I can just run it off and it will go away, but once I heard the pop I knew it was serious. This one kind of worries me. I’ll take it seriously. I’ll be back sooner than people think.” — Andre Iguodala on his injured left hamstring
Looking ahead: a quick turnaround after their disappointing loss at STAPLES Center as the team heads back home to face the 10-3 Portland Trailblazers and Oakland’s own Damian Lillard on Saturday night. All this before the Warriors embark on a four game road trip next week.
