David Lee was a huge presence on offense, getting offensive rebounds, finishing off passes and even scoring on the low block when the Dubs were struggling to score with any consistency. The Florida product managed to get into double figures in points and rebounds by halftime, mind you he was part of the problem on defense, as the Bobcats carved the interior defense of the Dubs.

Dorell Wright did little to help contribute to the Warriors good fortunes in the first half as he kept missing open looks. In the second half he was able to put some points on the board but his defense on Gerald Henderson was quite poor throughout the game.

Andris was very productive in the first quarter, getting second chance opportunities and finishing at the rim when the ball was dished off to him. Mind you, as is customary, the Latvian center struggled with fouls, picking up three in the first quarter and then never had any real impact on the game afterwards.

Monta managed to create some good looks at the basket but just could not get his shots to fall. Making matters worse for Ellis was that he allowed Kemba Walker to pretty much have his way on offense in the first half.
Charles Jenkins, G 22 MIN | 2-2 FG | 1-1 FT | 0 REB | 3 AST | 5 PTS | -3

Jenkins held his own on defense and even connected on a few shot attempts against a very energetic Bobcats defense.

Three Things We Saw

  1. The Bobcats came into this game with one of the worst defenses in the league; giving up points in the paint and from 3-point range. They looked exactly as such early in the first quarter, but once their bench came in, they took advantage of the Warriors defense and made them look like arguably the worst defensive unit in the league.
  2. The Warriors’ bench usually brings a little energy and toughness to the game thanks in large part to Dominic McGuire, Brandon Rush and Nate Robinson; but on this night, the Dubs’ second unit looked overmatched against the Bobcats’ reserves for most of the game.
  3. The score may seem respectable, but the outcome never truly seemed to be in doubt after the Bobcats took a 20-point lead at halftime. Indeed, at the 1:30 mark of the fourth quarter, the Warriors cut the lead to 105-99, but it still never felt as though the Dubs could defend well enough and put up enough points to catch up to Charlotte.
