Ever since Trevor Ariza’s knee made contact with Klay Thompson’s head, that has been the main storyline surrounding the Warriors as they prepare for the NBA Finals. The Warriors are not the same without Thompson on the floor, but most within the organization remain optimistic about the Splash Brother suiting up for Game 1.

Klay’s father, Mychal, was in attendance when his son sustained the concussion and had to drive him home after developing symptoms after the game. According to Diamond Leung of the Bay Area News Group, Mychal said on his radio show on ESPN 710 that he feels good about Klay playing in Game 1:
Mychal Thompson says on radio that doctors haven’t yet cleared Klay Thompson, but is feeling good about Klay being ready for Game 1.

The Warriors still have three days to finish putting together a game plan for the Cleveland Cavaliers, which means Klay still has time to fully recover and clear all the concussion test. Klay is no longer experiencing headaches, so that means he must be close to getting cleared.
Klay went to the A’s game on Sunday afternoon and that was a good sign for the Warriors. Individuals dealing with concussions are not supposed to be exposed to much light and it was a bright and sunny day in Oakland yesterday.
It’s hard to imagine a scenario where Thompson is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
