Kevin Durant and DeAndre Jordan have proven how close their friendship is these past few weeks.

They spent the Rio Olympics not only winning the basketball gold medal, but enjoying some downtime by cheering on the USA swimmers and beach volleyball players.

During the immediate aftermath of Durant deciding to join the Warriors, Jordan was one of his most vocal supporters.

Apparently they’ve known each other since Durant first tried to recruit Jordan to the University of Texas, and they previously told The Vertical that they would be in each other’s weddings.

Well they’re continuing to hang out, choosing to go to the birthplace of the modern Olympics to celebrate their gold medals.

They look like they’re having a really good time poolside in Mykonos, Greece before they embark on the quest for a championship with their separate NBA teams.

Despite being such good friends, Durant’s new Warriors teammates will probably have to educate him on some of the finer points of the great Warriors/Clippers rivalry that has developed in recent years.

It’s hard to believe that two franchises who were synonymous with ineptitude less than a decade ago now headline possibly the fiercest rivalry in the entire NBA.

A fight nearly breaks out every time these two meet each other, and it’ll be interesting to see if the animosity remains constant even without Andrew Bogut in the mix.

Bogut always seemed to be in the center of most of the scuffles, but something tells me the Warriors will still be able to match that intensity even without Bogut.

Jordan has insisted that once the regular season starts, he’s going to go back to hating the Warriors, and I don’t doubt that for a second.

When the Warriors and Clippers step on the court for their showdowns, it’s hard to tell which side hates the other more.
