NBA: Utah Jazz at Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors currently hold the best record in the NBA and if they beat the Philadelphia 76ers tonight, they will have 25 wins before the start of 2015. The Western Conference is incredibly tough and even after winning 16 games in a row this season, they only have a half game lead for the top seed in the West.

Steve Kerr appeared on the The Beat, a talk show presented by NBA.com and spoke about the current state of the Warriors. He was asked if he felt the Warriors needed to make a move, given the Rockets latest acquisition of Josh Smith. Diamond Leung of the Bay Area News Group tweeted his response:

The Warriors are one of the deeper teams in the NBA and Kerr knows that. If this team is able to stay healthy, they will be in great shape come playoff time. However, Andrew Bogut, David Lee and Festus Ezeli have been slowed down by injuries in the past and the Warriors have struggled without their big men.

Bogut missed the playoffs last season and the Warriors can’t afford to have him out this season. They might want to consider picking up another back-up big man to replace Bogut in case they lose him to another injury. Lee might be an attractive piece to another team and the Warriors could find another low post presence that could fill the void left by Bogut.

Ultimately, this team is already built to win, but injuries are unpredictable.
