According to multiple sources, the Golden State Warriors have decided to replace Don Nelson, per Marc Stein of ESPN.COM. Keith Smart is expected to take over as Head Coach with an announcement coming soon.
Nelson was in the final year of his contract and his departure from the Warriors is considered long overdue as people both inside and outside the organization have been calling for his dismissal for quite some time. Nelson who became the winningest head coach last season leaves the Warriors for a second time in his career.

Man, this was great news. My friend let me know while I was at work and haven’t stopped smiling since. Keith isn’t turning us into contenders overnight, but this is definitely a step in the right direction!
