NBA: Indiana Pacers at Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors host the Indiana Pacers tonight at Oracle Arena. If the Golden State Warriors maintain their elite level of play, they should be able to take of the Pacers without a problem. However, the Warriors can’t take this team for granted and must assert themselves early on.

The Warriors will be looking to continue their home winning streak and remain unbeaten against the Eastern Conference

In case you didn’t catch the game, here’s our instant recap:

1st Quarter

The Warriors got off to a slow start and were sloppy early on. They turned the ball over a few times and the Pacers actually were playing well. It was Draymond Green bobble-head night and he was the first Warrior to score by hitting a triple. It was pretty even in the first six minutes of the quarter, but then the Pacers took off and the Warriors went on a cold streak. The Pacers were playing with confidence and were up by five at the end of the quarter.

2nd Quarter

The Warriors didn’t wake up in the second quarter and the Pacers took advantage. Indiana was finding the basket and the Dubs continued to disappoint their home fans with their performance early on. Luis Scola then decided to take over the game and he scored six straight point. A Donald Sloan bucket gave the Pacers a nine point lead and the crowd was quiet. Both teams had trouble finding the basket, but the Warriors got back into it with triples from Justin Holiday and Steph Curry. Klay Thompson got some buckets as well and the Warriors were able to get back into the game. The Pacers kept getting buckets as well, but a Steph Curry three to end the quarter tied the game at 50. It was a new ball game.

3rd Quarter

A different Warriors team showed up in the second half. The Warriors went on a 10-0 run and once agains everything was right in the world. Klay Thompson came out strong and he scored 11 points in the first two and a half minutes. Lavoy Allen and Solomon Hill kept making baskets as well, but the Warriors maintained the lead. Indiana has shot the ball better, which is why the game is still close. Solomon Hill kept scoring the rock and the Pacers were able to cut the lead to one. David Lee then made his presence felt by making a few baskets. Klay Thompson closed the quarter with five unanswered points and they took an 84-76 lead into the final period.

4th Quarter

Klay Thompson picked up where he left off and started the quarter with another triple. He’s on point and can score inside and out. Thompson’s efforts gave the Warriors an 11 point lead. The Pacers took a time out and they needed the breather. They returned to the floor and went on a 5-0 run. Warriors respond and once again they grew their lead to nine. Draymond Green picked up his fifth foul with a little over seven minutes left in the fourth and he didn’t like the call. Luckily, Thompson’s 40 points so far prove to be the difference and the Warriors are up by nine with about five minutes left.  The Warriors had a good lead, but the Pacers kept lurking. The Warriors controlled the game the rest of the way and beat the Pacers 117-102.
