NBA: Charlotte Hornets at Golden State Warriors

Michael Jordan’s Charlotte Hornets visited the Warriors at the Oracle Arena for the first of two meetings. David Lee and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist would miss their game with their injuries. Stephen Curry welcomes his father to his playground. In case you missed the game, we have you covered:

1st Quarter

Harrison Barnes continued where he left off by dropping in a three-ball. Andrew Bogut was off to a hot start shooting 3-3 for an efficient seven points. Both teams came out firing, shooting over 50% halfway through the quarter. Andre Iguodala was the first player off the bench and came into the game for Barnes. The Warriors ran their weave at the top of the arc which led to a Steph pass to a Bogut jam. With both benches in to give the starters rest, the pace slowed and the Warriors led 28-23 at the end of the quarter. Bogut led the Dubs with 9 points on 4-4 shooting to go with his four assists.

2nd Quarter

Marreese Speights has been the spark plug for the bench while the starters continued to get rest. Thompson drove through the Charlotte defense and got to the rim for an and-one. The Warriors slowly built a 44-34 lead on Klay’s three pointer. Thompson continued to tear up the defense by going to the hoop for a left handed layup and hitting a transition three on the left wing. Curry got an open three from the same spot as Klay and pushed the lead to 58-39. The Warriors clicked and ran away with the lead. Behind Thompson’s game leading 16 points, the Warriors ended the half up 67-46.
