NBA: Utah Jazz at Golden State Warriors

The Warriors attempted to stretch their win streak to four games. After four days off, they welcomed the Utah Jazz to the Oracle Arena. In their first meeting, the Warriors would match up with Gordon Hayward the Jazz. The Warriors got out to an early lead and won the scoring battle in each quarter. The entire Warriors team pitched in on a group effort to down the Jazz.

1st Quarter

Klay Thompson got things going with an opening three point basket and Steph Curry quickly followed with one of his own. Both teams looked a bit sluggish to start the game, but the Warriors looked clearly like the better team early on. Steph Curry was himself early on, but Klay Thompson led the team with 8 points. The Warriors built an early lead and the Jazz struggled to put the ball in the hole. The Warriors’ defense was impressive, as the time progressed, everything seemed to be clicking for them. The Jazz finally showed some signs of life to end the quarter, but still found themselves down 28-13.  The Splash Brothers combined for 16 points, outscoring the Jazz in the first quarter.

2nd Quarter

The Jazz open the quarter with a turnover and Marreese Speights made them pay with a jumper. Gordon Hayward finally got on the board with a three pointer, but the Jazz were down big. Andre Iguodala was more aggressive in the second and hit a nice step back jumper. He also had an unbelievable pass to Marresse Speights, increasing their lead to 14. The Warriors kept rolling as the quarter continued and they were getting contributions from everyone. Andrew Bogut got a couple of nice dunks and the Jazz had no answer for them. It was a great team effort from the Warriors and they were able to increase their lead to 54-32. Klay Thompson lead all scorers with 10 points.
