Preview: The Sacramento Kings (21-41) have figured out a way to make losing fun. They haven’t necessarily done this willingly, but their season has become an interesting case study in attempting to predict long losing streaks.

Indeed, so far this season they have accumulated six losing streaks that have stretched out to four games or more. And just in case you were interested, they have the potential to do it just about three more times before the end of the 2012-13 regular season after taking a quick peek at their schedule.

The confusing thing about the Kings is they possess talent. They just don’t know what to do with it.

Sacramento is one of those young teams that seems destined to use youth as an excuse for all of their shortcomings.

They have moments where they share the ball and play as a unit and then there are other instances in which players freelance on offense and act as if it’s open mic night at the new Hip Hop club down the street.

On defense, the rotations come and go as they please. It’s tough to predict the Kings’ level of focus form one contest to the next on that end of the floor and that often costs them during games.

There is one team against whom it hasn’t been a problem though: the Golden State Warriors (34-27).

Keith Smart’s group has been victorious by a total of six points in both head-to-head matchups against the Dubs. It stands to reason that Sacto will be playing with confidence tonight against the Warriors considering their amount of success versus them.

It’s worth noting that both victories have come in Sacramento and tonight will the Kings’ first trip to Oracle Arena.

The Warriors are coming off a victory at home against the Toronto Raptors (23-38) and will be using their remaining home games as a springboard to earn themselves a postseason berth.

If Mark Jackson’s crew expects to still be playing well after the Kings’ season has ended, the Dubs need to win games like the one tonight pitting them against Sacramento.
