Draymond Green is proving to be a very likeable guy. Earlier this summer, Green welcomed 150 kids and hosted his first annual free basketball clinic in his hometown of Saginaw, Michigan. This simple gesture speaks volumes about his character. Before he made it to the NBA, Green went to college at Michigan State and played basketball there for four years – something that is rarely seen in today. Don’t forget, Green was the 35th pick overall pick in the second round. As a hardworking player who earned his stay on the Warriors, he has that blue collar work ethic.

Through his experience of balancing family, school, and basketball during his time at Michigan State, Green believes NCAA athletes should get paid. Beat writer Diamond Leung who writes for the Bay Area News Group reports Green’s response during his interview with the Bay Area’s sports radio network: KNBR 680 AM:
Draymond Green to KNBR: “I do think (college) players deserve to be paid.”

Green also went on to speak about his joy that the Michigan Wolverines currently hold a 2-3 record opposed to the Spartans’ 3-1 record:
Draymond Green told KNBR he loves that Michigan FB is 2-3: “That’s amazing. I think I’m happier with their record than I am (MSU’s) record.”

Last year Green proved to be an impact player who can make a difference when he sees the floor. Green is looking to expand his role on this year’s squad by accepting the challenge of transforming into a stretch four for Kerr’s offense. He will look to improve on his 6.2 points, 1.9 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game.
