The Draymond Green legal ordeal has reached its conclusion, and the Warriors star is going to avoid any jail time.
As part of a deal agreed to, Green will pay $560 for a noise violation. Noise violations aren’t a criminal charge, and no guilty plea will be required of Green.
Essentially a noise violation is treated the same as a parking ticket, and none of this is going on Green’s record. The misdemeanor assault and battery charge is eliminated, and puts to end the drama that Green had been contending with this offseason.
Green got into an altercation with former Michigan State football player Jermaine Edmondson on July 10 in East Lansing, Michigan. Green hit in him the face after Edmondson was hassling him about a previous encounter they had the night before.

Cynics may claim that this is just another example of a high profile figure getting special treatment out of the legal system, but conversely, this relatively harmless scuffle most likely wouldn’t even have gotten drawn out to the extent it was if Green hadn’t been a celebrity.
Green will have to pay a fine for getting into a fight where nobody was hurt. All indications from police say that Edmondson escalated the confrontation by trying to pick a fight with Green.
$560 to Green might as well be a few coins at the bottom of his wallet. Considering that he’s going to make $15.3 million next season, he’ll be fine.
Green can use this negative situation as a learning experience, though. He escaped this time without any blemishes being put on his record, but if it happens again, he might not be so lucky.
Athletes have huge targets on their backs, and Green has to be smarter to not get baited into making reckless decisions.
He can now put this unfortunate occurrence behind him from a legal perspective, but hopefully he learns not to make himself vulnerable to people who are trying to exploit him for their own gain.
