David Stern’s response should reignite the conspiracy theorists. I was waiting for a concise answer (covering the smell of bs) from the commissioner, and all he gave were nervous attempts to fire back at the reporter.
Listen, I’m the first to say, “It’s not a big deal…too many turnovers…not enough wins…blah blah blah,” but that explanation was terrible. Now, more than ever, I believe that Monta should be an all-star! Injury? Are we talking about the knee sprain that occurred only after he should have already been named to the reserves? Granted, the injury was perfectly timed, for Stern to deliver the excuse as to why he wasn’t a last-minute addition, but a top 5 scorer as exciting as Ellis, should have been a “coaches” decision in the first place.
