Warriors Wrap Up: Klay Thompson on “Showtime” Lakers and more

After the Golden State Warriors took a 2-0 series lead on the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA Finals, shooting guard Klay Thompson said Sunday that his team could beat the Showtime Los Angeles Lakers of the 1980s. When a reporter questioned forward Draymond Green about the team’s elite defensive abilities, Green said this team couldn’t be compared to the likes of the “Showtime” Lakers and 1995-96 Chicago Bulls, when Thompson interrupted Green and said, “We are better than (the) Showtime Lakers”.
