Before the season began, Steve Kerr stepped away from the Golden State Warriors to recover. In the process, assistant Luke Walton has stepped in and kept the Warriors moving without missing a beat. With the best record in the NBA, the coach is allowed to have some fun with his players.
In practice, the interim coach took on the sharpshooting Curry in a short 3-point contest and won. Don’t believe that statement? Watch the video and see it for yourself:
Walton played 10 seasons in the NBA, eight with the Los Angeles Lakers and two with the Cleveland Cavaliers. His playing career resume includes two championship. While Walton was never regarded as a superstar, his ability to play smart basketball kept him in the league. Although he’s succeeding as a coach, he shows his shooting stroke is still there.
The Warriors have had three days off. The next game will be home at the Oracle Arena against the Phoenix Suns. After winning 24 straight to begin the season, the Warriors captured the second longest regular season win streak record (28) with the help of the last four games in the 2014-15 season.
