The Golden State Warriors will honor their past and wear their original “The City” Jerseys eight times through the regular season. While the newest logo and design mimics the past, these will be exciting to bring back.
Both, the past and present feature the round circular bridge design with the number inside but are different . Obviously, “The City” jerseys feature that phrase rather than “Golden State Warriors.”
The first time these will be seen is against the Toronto Raptors on November 18. They will practically be worn once a month through April with the exception of February (worn twice in November and January). Another returning aspect of the Hardwood Classic Nights will be the center court logo. The Warriors will play five home games at the Oracle and the center court logo will change to the original for those games.
Recently retired, NBA veteran, Jason Richardson will be honored when the Warriors take on the Los Angeles Lakers.

Warriors Legend Jason Richardson To Be Honored On November 24 vs. Los Angeles Lakers
OAKLAND, CA – The NBA Champion Golden State Warriors announced today that the team will host Hardwood Classics nights during the 2015-16 season, beginning on Tuesday, November 17 against the Toronto Raptors at Oracle Arena. Originally released during the 1966-67 NBA season, the Warriors’ “The City” jerseys will be worn for a total of eight games this season, with the team’s original center court logo returning to Oracle Arena during all five home games the team will host a Hardwood Classics Night.
Below are additional Hardwood Classics Nights the Warriors will wear “The City” jerseys this season:
- Tuesday, November 24 vs. Los Angeles Lakers
- Tuesday, December 8 at Indiana Pacers
- Saturday, January 9 at Sacramento Kings
- Monday, January 18 at Cleveland Cavaliers
- Tuesday, March 1 vs. Atlanta Hawks
- Tuesday, March 29 vs. Washington Wizards
- Tuesday, April 5 vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
The Warriors last wore the Hardwood Classics “The City” jerseys on four occasions during the 2010-11 season, posting a 3-1 record when donning the retro threads.
To commemorate the second Hardwood Classics Night on November 24 against the Los Angeles Lakers, the Warriors will recognize former swingman Jason Richardson for his accomplishments during his six seasons with the franchise. The Warriors also installed a wall graphic of Richardson at the team’s Practice Facility in downtown Oakland this month. Originally selected by the Warriors with the fifth overall pick of the 2001 NBA Draft, Richardson averaged 18.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.27 steals and 35.5 minutes in 438 games (431 starts) with Golden State from 2001-07. The 6’6” swingman was a key member of the celebrated “We Believe” playoff run in 2007, when the Warriors ended a 13-year playoff drought and became the first eight-seed in NBA history to defeat a one-seed in a seven-game playoff series with a 4-2 upset over the Dallas Mavericks. While with the Warriors, the Michigan State product won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in consecutive years (2002, 2003) and currently ranks third on the franchise’s all-time three-pointers made list (700) behind only Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
