When you’re from a small city of Ames in Iowa, having an NBA Champion in town is a big deal. Actually, it would be a big deal in any town. Like Shaun Livingston, Harrison Barnes went home to relax in the offseason and was honored by his town.

Barnes took it all in on the back of a Chevy Camaro during the town’s Fourth of July parade. According to Diamond Leung of the Bay Area Sports Group, he was dubbed the Grand Marshall and brought the Larry O’Brien trophy with him:

After the parade, fans got an opportunity to take photos with the Champion. Not only was he the Grand Marshall, the city honored him with the key to the city.

Recognized for his hard work, it was truly earned. It’ll look awfully good next to his championship ring when he’s not wearing it. In his third season, Barnes was a key in the puzzle. His hustle and energetic play led to thunderous slams to get the Warriors crowd going.
