When the Cleveland Cavaliers won Game 3, people were quickly jumping off the Golden State bandwagon. Everybody was talking about Matthew Dellavedova being a Steph Curry stopper and LeBron was putting up astronomical numbers.

The Warriors would go on to win the next three games and all the talk surrounding Dellavedova quickly vanished. The Warriors are now celebrating their first championship since 1975, but the critics haven’t gone away, they just changed their argument.
ESPN’s Skip Bayless was quick to congratulate the Warriors and express his love for Curry, but called the Warriors lucky for avoiding teams like the Spurs, Thunder and Clippers on their way to the title. The MVP caught wind of the tweet and responded like a champ:

The Warriors are still celebrating their win against the Cavs yesterday and even the negative Bayless won’t bring Curry down. Curry only responded to the first part of Bayless’ tweet and kept it very simple.
Bayless has been a Curry supporter since he was coming out of Davidson, but his latest claim is ridiculous. The Warriors were the best team in the NBA and the postseason. This notion that they were fortunate to avoid certain players or teams is just an excuse to diminish their championship run.
The Warriors were the best team on both ends of the floor and they earned the Larry O’Brien trophy. There’s no need to validate what they accomplished this year, now the goal is to come back next year and do it again.
Bayless is brainless, the Warriors did not avoid anybody, they played whoever was slated to oppose them in the playoffs. The real injustice is the imbalance of EAstern and Western conference roads to the playoffs,you could say that the Cavs avoided the Thunder, Spurs, and Clips too, but Bayless said nothing about that.
