Every year you can count on Bill Russell to attend the final game of the NBA Finals. The Finals MVP award was named after the great Russell in 2009, rightfully so he has been the one delivering the trophy to the player during the championship ceremony.

This time he gave the trophy to Andre Iguodla, who didn’t start a game until the NBA Finals and ended up with the highest individual award in the series. Iggy is a student of the game and he knows the meaning of the award, especially when it comes from the legendary Russell himself.
After Russell had given to award to Iguodala, head coach Steve Kerr interacted with the 11-time champion. Kerr jokingly told Russell that the Warriors needed 10 more titles to catch him:

For those of you that don’t know, Russell is the most decorated player in NBA history. He won 11 championships as a player and his last two titles he was actually a player/coach. The man was incredible and the Celtics were unstoppable.
The league was a lot different back then and nobody will even get close to matching Russell’s 11 championship rings. Kerr is a competitor, but he knows how hard it is to win one title, which is why he said it jokingly.
The Warriors do have the personnel to win a few more championships. They have a young talented core that is signed for the next several years (with the exception of Draymond, who is a restricted free agent) and with one title under their belt, they know what it takes to hoist that beautiful golden trophy.
