There may not be another game at the Oracle Arena. If the Warriors handle business and complete the sweep, they’ll be back in the Bay Area for a parade. Until then, they will need to play one game at a time. Game 2 at the Oracle will be rocking, as the Cleveland Cavaliers will have to head into battle without Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving. It won’t be easy but if you have one player to stand behind, you have to play behind LeBron James. The Warriors will have to make open jumpers and keep the pressure applied. The ball is in their hands and they are going to need to control the flow.

Check out our instant recap here:

1st Quarter

Klay Thompson wasted no time and hit two straight buckets to start the game. He wouldn’t stop there, he would follow it with a triple and another two point shot. The Warriors were up five and Oracle was loving it. The Cavs came out knocking down shots of their own and quickly came back to cut the lead to three. The Cavs then got a little cold, so Barbosa had to come in because Klay picked up two quick fouls. Barbosa made his impact felt early by grabbing an offensive rebound and putting it back in to extend the lead to eight. The Warriors then went on a 8-0 run led by two buckets from the King. It was an extremely low scoring quarter for both teams. The game was tied 20 going into the second quarter. Klay was feeling it, but the rest of the team struggled offensively.

2nd Quarter

It took about a minute, but LeBron was the first to score in the second period. Thompson was feeling it and he kept knocking down shots. He scored a triple for the Warriors to give them the lead. He followed with two more two point shots, but LeBron was doing everything he could to keep his team alive. The Cavs offense was struggling and Klay was starting to heat up. The Cavs then got a boost from an unlikely hero in James Jones. He was able to knock down some shots for a total of eight points. LeBron kept pouring it on and Mozgov contributed as well to give them a seven point lead. The Warriors picked up the scoring and were able to cut the lead to one after another Thompson triple. Curry and Iguodala both hit some shots to help the Warriors get back into this game. The Warriors would go into the break trailing by two points. Klay finished the half with 20 points.

3rd Quarter

It took LeBron less than 10 seconds to score another two points. Harrison Barnes responded immediately with a bucket of his own. However, both team struggled offensively to start the second half and it was not pretty to watch. Both teams combined to score eight points in the first six minutes of the third. The Cavs were barely hanging on to their two point lead and then Mozgov made four free throws in a row to make the lead six. Another Thompson triple got it down to three, but JR Smith quickly came back to knock down one of his own. This was a close game and you were just waiting for the Warriors to make a big run. The offensive woes continued, but the Warriors closed out the quarter by going on a 3-0 run to make it a three point deficit. 12 more minutes left.

4th Quarter

Klay Thompson has been the best player for the Warriros tonight and he started the fourth by hitting a triple and drawing the foul. He would miss the free throw and Matthew Dellavedova scored four straight points to give the Cavs some more breathing room. Thompson hit another bucket, but the Cavs were responding every time. The role players started to play big for the Cavs. Dellavedova and Smith hit back to back triples to give them an 11 point lead. The Warriors hit a couple of free throws to get the lead within single digits. The King came back to score a free throw and a triple to get the lead back to 11. The Warriors were bound to make a run and they did. Iggy and Curry both made triples and the other players knocked down their free throws. Down by two, Curry scored on a drive to the basket and tied the game at 87. LeBron once again had the opportunity to win the game, but could not convert. We need overtime.

Overtime

Both teams missed their opening shots to start the overtime period. Shumpert hit a critical three pointer to give the Cavs the lead and the Warriors could not buy a basket. The Cavs were up five, but Draymond hit two straight buckets to get it down to one. However, the Warriors could not capitalize and they turned the ball over two straight times. The Warriors had a couple attempts to take the lead, but were sloppy to end the game. Curry did not look like himself. It was a tough loss for the Warriors. Series tied at 1.
