The Warriors have a one game series lead in the NBA Finals, but some people are already crowning them as champions after Kyrie Irving was lost for the series. The Warriors were favored to win when Irving was still in the lineup, so without the young star the Warriors’ odds have increased.
-== 5 Reasons Why the Warriors Will Beat the Cavaliers ==-
The Warriors are preparing for Game 2 and the Cavs still have the best player on the planet in LeBron James. Cleveland is still a dangerous team without Irving, so the Warriors can’t get comfortable. According to Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle, Steve Kerr is not worried at all about his team having a letdown after Irving’s injury:
Asked if the Warriors could face a let down without having to play vs. Kyrie Irving, coach Steve Kerr basically said, “Come on?!? Really?!?”

Kerr didn’t really respond to that question because it’s obvious they still have their eyes on the prize. They’ve worked so hard all season to put themselves in this position, they are not going to have a letdown when a championship is within reach. Kerr is a five-time NBA Champion and his experience won’t allow the Warriors to lose focus.
The Cavs obviously face a more daunting task, but they are still capable of stringing together a couple of victories and taking control of this series. The Warriors just need to worry about protecting their home court and then this series moves to Cleveland. This series is far from over, there is still a job to be done.
