After a week of no basketball, we were treated with an amazing Game 1 of the NBA Finals. Not only did we get the 48 minutes, but this game went into overtime and that’s where the Warriors were able to run away with the game.

The Warriors were glad to have the overtime period after LeBron James missed a jumper to win the game, but it was Iman Shumpert’s shot that looked like it had a good shot of going in. According to Marcus Thompson of the Bay Area News Group, Steve Kerr thought Shumpert’s shot was going to win the game for the Cavs:

After LeBron’s game winner didn’t go in, the Warriors once again allowed the Cavs to grab the offensive rebound and it almost cost them. This all took place in front of the Warriors bench, so they had a clear look at Shumpert’s jumper. His shot was straight on, but missed by an inch, maybe less.

This is obviously a completely different series if that shot goes in, but luckily it didn’t. The Warriors looked like themselves in the overtime period and only allowed the Cavs to score two points. This game was a thriller and Game 2 should not be any different.
